Human journeys are full of wonders of life, blue sky, sunshine, and smiles, but it also has many sorrows to endure by our spirit. He is omni present. We can not share peace and happiness with loved ones unless we ourselves are peaceful and happy. Without this, we can not enjoy our breathing and the company of others. One doesn’t need to access the future to enjoy such things now. All we have to do is be present at the very moment. It is a pity that most of us miss on this because of the misunderstood understanding of our capabilities, ambitions, and expectations. Most importantly, we are busy without any business. For the most part, we fail to enjoy even our leasure time because any given time we are not in touch with our innerselves. To take control back, we can start with a conversation about meditating. While tens of thousands of children die of hunger every day in our world, we have created enough nuclear weapons to kill us all many times over. Meditation requires to be practicing calmness to get in touch with our soul and leave our dreadful and wonderful experiences behind. Just like a beautiful smile of a child can melt us all, by relaxing our minds, we can reach the unreachable state of calm in our mind. A day full of mindfulness can be a good retreat. But we don’t want to be drowning in forgetfulness. Rather, just like drinking a glass of ice water can allow freshness to permeate one’s body, relaxing muscles, and our nervous system can calm our minds. Dwelling in ourselves only at a given time, we can feel our presence in the present moment. This will feel us alive in current, not in the future or past. To fully experience the present moment, that is real, is the most important element of meditation. If we turn on a calm ourselves, we become calm. If we turn on a sorrowness, we become sorrow. If we smile, we become happy people. All we have to do is take ourselves away from the noise in our lives and focus on what is good happening in our lives. Noise destroys us, and good builds us. If we do this, we return to our true innerselves. Everything seems to work in concert to give us peace of mind. When a baby is in a womb of a future mother, he or she receives everything from the future mother and the surroundings. Understanding love originates from this point on. This wakes us up and makes us aware of ourselves. Protesting not necessarily brings us peace as an agitated mind may fail to recognize a foe from a friend. Our capacity of believing in ourselves brings us all the joy and peace. When we are on the edge, we may feel helpless. If we sense danger being too close and panic, we may lose ourselves and only become a worse copy of us. However, if we figure out what to do and what not to do, then we are able to survive and ultimately thrive. Every one of us can become that person who saves us all from danger by being awake and brave like a gentle monk. When we discover we are not the ones that we perceive ourselves to be, that’s when we achieve the unthinkable, the true understanding of us, and we become awakened. The awakened one understands what his dharma is when living in a civil society. He understands the difference between love and loving. We love our loving ones, and we are loving so that we can love our loved ones. Love is an act of loving and vice versa. Yet being in love and being loving are two different concepts. We can love someone but may not be a loving kind. We may be a loving kind but may not love someone. Once we fully comprehend this subtle variation and distinction in the above two terms, we learn to practice compassion towards others as an intelligent being. And that’s the true nature of the awakened one.
